Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board at Delhi conducted the Inter Ministry Chess Tournament 2019-20 from 14.10.2019 to 23.10.2019. A total of 11 teams of different ministries participated in the tournament. Ministry of Defence emerged as overall champion of the tournament and were awarded the Trophy and gold medals. The team consisted of two players from Defence Accounts Department, one player from DRDO and one player from AFHQ viz. Sh. Himanshu Moudgil (DAD), Sh. Ram Ranjan Singh (DAD), Sh. Rajesh Kumar (DRDO) and Sh. J.P. Srivastava (AFHQ). In the individual category, Shri Himanshu Moudgil of DAD stood second and won silver medal. In board prize for third board Shri Ram Ranjan Singh of DAD stood first and won gold medal. Shri Rajesh Kumar, AFHQ stood first for fourth board prize and won gold medal. Sh Sanjiv Mittal, CGDA felicitated the winners of Inter Ministry Chess Tournament 2019-20 at CGDA Hqrs on 04th Nov 2019. He encouraged the players to play with more vigor and zeal at the upcoming All India Tournament.
